weather or issue? wr discussion

Oct 4, 2015, 8:48 AM

So I know and realize the elements were awful last night, but us it concerning that our wrs caught only 2 balls beyond the LOS? 1 was the td to Scott and the other was a great grab by Renfro. Both of those occurred very early in the game also. Deteriorating conditions or issue?

Thoughts?

Didn't seem to bother the ND receivers

I guess you didn't see they're multiple dropped passes as well

Yes there were balls that should have been caught. I realize that. 1 to scott that would have made it 28-3 and there is no comeback....

I was talking to cool cat, referring to ND receivers. Unfortunately, they did figure it out in the 4th quarter

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

Huge Issue. We miss Mike Williams...

Oct 4, 2015, 9:04 AM

Don't have anyone that can stretch the field. I thought Peake would be that guy, but he just doesn't have it. No effort, no separation, doesn't know how to high-point a jump ball. Coaches won't give Trevion Thompson a shot so we have no idea what he could do at that position.

Scott and Renfrow are all we have. Cain has potential, but he is extremely raw right now. I would like to see Ray Ray run more vertical routes, but I don't think the coaches will let him.

Williams had the special sauce - missed tremendously

Opens thing up for others

A lot of it was playcalling.

Oct 4, 2015, 9:35 AM

Yeah, Scott and Peake should have made those two plays, but other than those it's not like we dropped a bunch or missed throws. We were just very safe and conservative in our playcalling. Most of NDs fourth quarter stuff was underneath the coverage as well, so I don't really buy that they figured it out any better than we did. The talent is there no question so I'm not overly concerned at this point.
