OOC games 2032-2033?

Jul 29, 2019, 5:02 PM

The next decade and a half of out of conference games has few interesting matchups. A home-home with LSU looks great and I’m sure the Oklahoma series will be good. Three games with Georgia is fantastic. 2021 is a dud with Wyoming.

Six times with Notre Dame is a little annoying. At least there’s no more than two consecutively. I know it’s a pseudo conference game, but there’s so many other interesting programs to play.

2032 and 2033 are open. Who is the program talking to? Texas? Here are my top favorites:

1. MICHIGAN - I grew up a Michigan fan and would love to see the Tigers in the Big House. While I don’t want to see Michigan drop out of any rankings with a walloping I would enjoy the Tigers winning in a close but controlled game

2. OHIO STATE - based on #1, the reasons write themselves, however this time I’m down for the Tigers putting on a walloping

3. TEXAS - There’s no telling where Texas as a program will be in 14 years nor Clemson for that matter but these two teams have never met on the gridiron and we’ve reached a point where that needs to be remedied

4. USC - A Pac12 matchup would be a nice change but the conference is so inconsistent right now, who do you want? I picked USC for its pedigree and I think an October date sets up well for prime time

5. PENN STATE or FLORIDA - this interest is more about playing in happy valley or the swamp than the teams or programs themselves

we also play at UGA in 2032 and have them at home in 2033

that's been set for quite some time. 2038 is our earliest opening

I was going off of this recent article which says that series is 2029-2030.

Well color me wrong. That article wasn’t recent enough. The 2032-2033 series was finalized in April. I guess I got it mixed up with the earlier one. Suits me fine.

5. (continued) UCLA, Oregon, Washington. Just to go their stadiums.

I’m deliberately trying to distract from the current favorite topic of conversation

I personally think our schedule is pretty good, with 2021 being the exception. However, I'm not going to stress out over one mediocre year when all of the others are so good.

Since we don't have any openings for another P5 series until 2038 and beyond, I think your best bet on facing some of those teams is going to be in the postseason.
