We have played usc every year since 1896. the over all record is 70-42-4, in favor of CU. Here's the unreal part..... usc has had the series lead for exactly ONE year since the rivalry started. they won the first game in 1896 and have not lead in games won since. CU won in 1897 to tie the series at 1-1, won in 1898 to take the lead and has never looked back. to made it even more unbelievable, all the games were played in columbia from 1896-1960.

Just FYI the “rivalry” was suspended from 1903-1907, otherwise it’d be the longest standing series in the country

Lesson learned? Don't show up to the game with posters when we have bayonets?

Have not played every year. Game was suspended for 4 or 5 years I believe.

No game was played in 1903, 04, 05, 06, 07, or 08. Riots at the 1902 game led to a suspension of the series until it was restarted in 1909.

But the rest of your comment is correct.

Those were the years that Syvelle Newton's grandfather played for the coots. Bad habits run in the family.

Born in 1970, I had never witnessed the Coots winning two

games in a row against the Tigers until I was 40 years old. The Tigers put together multiple strings of wins against the Coots during this time.

Unfortunarely, the first time I had to witness back to back losses was when the Coots had their 5 win streak(the greatest acomplishment of their program's history).

as I recall coach howard had a close to a break even record against them but probably 25 of his 29 games against them were down there. Going from memory on this didnt look it up

Starting in 1896 until 1960 (that equates to 58 total games) each and every game in the rivalry series was played in Columbia. Of the 58 games played, Clemson won 33 including seven in row from 1934 to 1940.

Fans from the stadium grounds all the way to 5 Points where they all settled down and had some drinks, and laughed.

Oh, I suppose we lost that game and main reason for skirmish.

I love that the Tigers are the more fortunate team in the rivalry; however, the probability that one side leads most of the time, if not all the time, during a coin flipping trial is much, much more likely than each side leading half the time.

Probability of random processes is weird.

I agree 100%.

I was just saying IF they were equal (they aren't), one team or the other ,more than likely, would lead the head to head the vast majority of the time.

The fact that Clemson is soooooo far ahead is more indicative of the Tiger's dominance.

That and the natty's,
and the bowl wins,
and the conference championships,
and the 10 win seasons,
and ............
