So can we all agree that Trump

I mean... Individual 1, committed a crime?
And if so, what are the pros and cons of being able to indict a sitting president?
Surely we don't want a leader that is above the law.
But then again, we can't prosecute a president for murder if he's bombing enemies

Knowingly directing his attorney to violate campaign finance law and pay hush money to a #### star and directing or allowing David ###### to pay off a Playboy Bunny.

I imagine this is precisely why you do not practice law at this level.

Paying someone off so that they do not influence the election is considered a campaign contribution. So, they used "campaign money" (at Trumps direction) to silence these women. At least that is my understanding.

If they were blackmailing him then yes and they should be brought up on charges. However, I don't remember any reports indicating they demanded any money. That was where the whole mess started, them going to court calming the contract Trump had her sign was not valid due to it being done under duress.

No, he gave here money to make sure she didn't talk. He was bribing her to keep quiet, that is on him. If she threatened him to take it public unless he paid her then that is on her and she should be charged. Just depends on how it went down. According to everything we have so far it was the former and not the latter.

What we know in terms of the payments...
- We have Trump on tapes from Cohen telling him to pay women. - We have testimony from both Cohen and the women that Trump directed the payments. - Federal prosecutors claim to have additional proof that Trump directed payments to keep these women silent.
What we don't know yet... - Was it done to prevent people from finding out about it to protect his election chances. If so then we fall back into the campaign finance issues. If not then it is just a personal thing.
Connecting the dots... - The biggest thing we are all guessing on it the campaign finance violations. The timing of the non-disclosure offered to Stormy Daniels suggests either he was blackmailed or he panicked and tried to buy her silence. Which of those is the truth determines a lot of what happens going forward.

Cohen's confession to committing a crime does in no way evidence that Trump committed a crime. That's the exact same thing as saying Cohen confessed for Trump.
The only crime committed was by Stormy and the creepy pron lawyer. The crime was extortion.

Don't we have Trump on tape telling Cohen to write a check for these payments?
