if we were to get back to 4 or 5 in the BCS, and beat UCS.... FSU would likely be in a "MNCG or no BCS at all" when they play VT or Duke.
The top 4 in the BCS automatically go to a BCS bowl. An FSU loss to VT or Duke and they likely fall out of the top 4... especially if we reached 4 after beating UCS.
They would be Chic Fil A bound (2 team per conference rule)

Why do you think a 12-1 FSU would be ranked below a 11-1 Clemson that they beat on the road?

But like it or not, late losses often cause illogical drops.
I can't think of any rational person who would rank FSU and Clemson with equal records as having us on top. And yet, it happens.

5. If any of the 10 slots remain open after
application of provisions 1 through 4, and an at-large
team from a conference with an annual automatic berth for
its champion is ranked No. 3 in the final BCS Standings,
that team will become an automatic qualifier, provided
that no at-large team from the same conference qualifies
for the national championship game.
6. If any of the 10 slots remain open after application
of provisions 1 through 5, and if no team qualifies under
paragraph No. 5 and an at-large team from a conference
with an annual automatic berth for its champion is ranked
No. 4 in the final BCS Standings, that team will become
an automatic qualifier provided that no at-large team
from the same conference qualifies for the national
championship game.

If a team from a BCS conference is ranked #3 in the final BCS standings and is not their conference champion, they become an automatic qualifier provided no team from their conference is an at large selection for the national championship game.
If the team at #3 is already an automatic qualifier, the above applies to the team ranked #4.
