When you see all the people that get strung out being locked up or going through rehab several times why would you even thank about doing drugs? A couple million dollar signing bonus and a chance at a promising career being thrown away for a high. l never will understand it.

Good thought. I would assume that for a 50 games suspension, it would have to be PED's.

It was for "drug of abuse" which it means it was either opiods, cocaine, pot, meth, or mdma

These arent really random tests like they do for steroids but are done if a player has had a prior drug violation or there was reasonable cause for a test. Like if he showed up high or drugs were found on him. So somene like Josh Hamilton gets tested frequently while Derek Jeter probably never got tested.

the part that really sucks is that the suspension doesn't start until he signs with a new team...so he's essentially blackballed right? I mean who would sign a guy who has to immediately sit out 50 games.
