That's kinda what I've been saying for awhile now. Trump's trying to portray Biden as this doddering old incompetent who's ready for Depends and assisted living.
All Biden has to do is look remotely ambulatory and not get confused and wander off into traffic in the middle of the first twenty minutes of the first debate now and he wins going away.
Trump pretty much bet it all on a busted flush...and he really didn't have to, either.

Setting up Biden to shine and Trump to fall flat on his face. Early in the primary run, Biden was floundering, coming in 4th and looking dead in the water. Trump and his team were planning on running against a Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren type candidate. The moderate Biden threw a wrench in those plans with his big win in South Carolina. It appears the Trump campaign didn't come up with a Plan B for Biden and are stuck and it just isn't working.

Winning South Carolina made the difference? Big South Carolina? No way crazy Bernie is going to win South Carolina.
It just seems really odd that Bernie dropped out after Super Tuesday. He still had a chance to win it. It made sense for Warren to drop out, she didn't have a chance. But the truth is Warren was taking some of Bernie's democratic socialist vote. With her out, he would get that back. So why would he drop out?
The only reason he lost to Hillary was due to questionable super delegate rules in 2016 which I thought they changed this time around.
Is it possible that the DNC realized they could win with a far-left candidate, at least not yet. Even Joe Biden has referred to himself as a transitional candidate. Seems the goal for the DNC is to get Trump out, whatever it takes. The trick will be to keep Biden from swinging left.
