What did UCF do to Clemson?

Nov 1, 2018, 8:30 PM

They never spoke ill of us IIRC. They are an upstart program on the nation's longest win steak.

All the hate on here suddenly. Weird stuff. Why should we be insecure about UCF?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Used to like them but lost all respect with that fake NC

They were fine with me until they started celebrating fake national championships.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No one is insecure about UCF

Nov 1, 2018, 8:32 PM

Everyone is tired of the self proclaimed champion bull crap.

Gamecocks might as well put National Champs up in their Stadium. Looks like anyone can. That’s why !!

the Gamecocks have won 20 in a row?

Nov 1, 2018, 8:40 PM [ in reply to Re: What did UCF do to Clemson? ]

I think UCF's point is that they can do literally nothing to win a championship. They could win 50 straight and they still wouldn't get a shot. You have to admit there's something wrong with that

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: the Gamecocks have won 20 in a row?

Nov 1, 2018, 8:43 PM

When you play the 127th ranked schedule out of 130, you're not going to get a shot at the NC, nor should you.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Join a real conference.

Nov 1, 2018, 8:45 PM [ in reply to the Gamecocks have won 20 in a row? ]

Schedule some difficult teams.

I get that it's not UCf's fault as I would never schedule them either if I was Clemson or Bama or whoever.

But, unfortunately, it is what it is for ucf until they change who they play.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Join a real conference.

Nov 1, 2018, 8:48 PM

Why would any of those teams have an issue with playing UCF? They probably wouldn’t agree to a home and home, but no way any of those teams are afraid of hosting UCF or playing them in a place like Atlanta. UCF went winless like 3 years ago and lost to Furman in the process...nobody is afraid of them.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Join a real conference.

Nov 1, 2018, 9:07 PM

They refuse to play neutral site games, and will only accept home and homes from P5 teams. Two of their P5 games have been canceled because of hurricanes recently. I don't think people are afraid of them, they aren't really making an effort to schedule quality opponents.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I just remember how Boise St. did it.... We'll play you

Nov 2, 2018, 7:44 AM

anywhere anytime. I don't know why UCF feels so entitled to think they are better than anything other than home and homes.

Re: the Gamecocks have won 20 in a row?

Nov 1, 2018, 8:45 PM [ in reply to the Gamecocks have won 20 in a row? ]

Or maybe they could go out and schedule some tough OOC games? If they truly feel they are a NC level team then go try and schedule a game against a team like Clemson, Bama, UGA, etc... Sure, it’s unlikely any of those teams will travel to play them in Orlando, but they’d like get some of those programs to play them at their place. They instead want to play their toughest game last season against Memphis in double overtime and then an unmotivated Auburn team in a bowl game and claim themselves as champs.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why would they Would it be fair to give them a spot that

Nov 1, 2018, 8:46 PM [ in reply to the Gamecocks have won 20 in a row? ]

Could go to someone who actually played a P5 schedule? How many P5 teams would go undefeated with their soft schedule?

Re: the Gamecocks have won 20 in a row?

Nov 1, 2018, 8:47 PM [ in reply to the Gamecocks have won 20 in a row? ]

So if Furman won 20 in a row should they get a shot ? I agree it’s something for them to be proud of but there is a difference in the quality of teams played

Re: the Gamecocks have won 20 in a row?

If Furman won 20 in a row, they would be national champions.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Their schedule is a joke. Their P5 opponents are UNC and Pitt. At least when Boise State was up and coming they wold schedule good OOC opponents.

Re: the Gamecocks have won 20 in a row?

Nov 1, 2018, 8:55 PM [ in reply to the Gamecocks have won 20 in a row? ]

UCF reminds me of Penn State years ago. Papa Joe's teams would go undefeated and end up 5th in the nation. Did not change until they started beating some of the big boys. Wanna Natty UCF? Play and beat the big boys.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: the Gamecocks have won 20 in a row?

Nov 2, 2018, 8:06 AM

I don't think they deserve to be in the playoffs. Having said that, UCF is what Boise State was in the 90's. Everybody said "play the big boys." Problem was that the "big boys" would not play them due to everything to lose, nothing to gain. In the bowls, Boise did beat the "big boys." The problem with Boise of old and now UCF is that they can play one game with almost anyone. They have a cup cake schedule and come in healthy, rested, and we'll prepared. They don't have the depth to do it week in and week out. They are dangerous one game teams, but if you put them in a real conference, they would be mid to lower pack.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Be objective; if UCF put their banner up for the year Clemson waon the NCG,

No there isn't...

Nov 1, 2018, 10:36 PM [ in reply to the Gamecocks have won 20 in a row? ]

If they want a shot, they need to man-up and play some teams with actual pulse.

I actually like UCF. Having said that, I only want two undefeated teams going into the playoff; Clemson and Bama. UCF does have on the ugliest uniforms in the history of football.
