5 million plus per yr. will get the attention of Venables or most coaches. In 2020, Kingsbury will make 5.5 mil. Hope he does not go anywhere else. Venables would be very hard to replace.

I think BV loves the job he has - loves working for/with Dabo & that's the prize, isn't it? Loving to go to work every day - getting really nice $$$. Why would he take a chance on trying to over take Okla, Texas, OKST & W.Va?

could be wrong,but I don't think venables is really interested in being a HC,and I also think that dabo already has the next man up in mind,if necessary.

I hope he doesn't leave. The problem is his oldest son is red shirting so he can leave and still play 4 years and the next son is a high school senoir. It's not like they have to have scholarships to go to school and play football.

I go to Lubbock twice a month minimum. The people there are salt of the earth, but that landscape??? Think moonscape, but less vegetation than the moon.

During my working days I visited Lubbock many times. A tornado came through and the tallest building in the city was not blown down but the steel structure was bent and I believe had to be torn down. The tall building in the above photo appears to be on that site or near by. It's been a long time so I could be wrong. (As I often am)

BV can have way better than that job . No disrespect to Texas Tech but if BV wanted an HC job he could just about pick it out of the mail .
What that sounds like to me ( if indeed TT did let the cat outta the bag ) is that TT's athletic director wants 20 pounds of platinum for 10 pence
Happy as he appears to be I would be completely blindsided if hewere to leave for more money right now . I think he's as ALL IN as anyone , and is enjoying life at Clemson at the moment .

My thoughts as well. I'd expect the most respected coordinator in the country would go to a bigger-time program. Having said that, we should do what we can to keep him; he seems to be doing pretty well here.

Oklahoma, Texas and aTm are always going to get the top recruits in Texas. Just don't see that attracting BV.
