Many are saying it's the start of a war w/Iran

Jan 2, 2020, 9:38 PM

I sure hope not...

Qasem Soleimani was a more valuable target then OBL

Jan 2, 2020, 9:44 PM

Commander of the Qods, his assassination is supposedly as significant as killing a head of state.

“He is a hardliner’s hardliners.”

No worries.

There’s no reason to think we’re not in control.

It was a massively out of proportion response. Hard to believe Iran won't try to retaliate in kind.

speaking the language they understand

You're right. Obama kept us safe. Trump is an out of control child.

Now how have we become unsafe?

A renewed threat of terrorism?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So, what is an "appropriate response" in your opinion?

Jan 3, 2020, 7:31 AM [ in reply to Re: Many are saying it's the start of a war w/Iran ]

Probably an apology for hurting Iran's feelings.

The greatest danger in killing that terrorist is within...

Iranian borders. The people may unite behind the government in resisting the harsh economic sanctions which are causing them much pain.

Imo, fear of retaliation should never deter America from killing those who have and will kill Americans.

They tried that a few weeks ago. MASSIVE protests against the government. The govt shut down the internet, then Soleimani killed a thousand protesters. Some images managed to get out, but if a protester was even holding a cell phone they were shot.

Guess we are going to find out, how secure our IT infrastructure is. As if we don't already know.

I bet they go after oil first. They know it's an election year. Get gas to $4 and Trump's a dead man walking.

IT infrastructure is oil. How about they crash a nuclear power plant in the us?

Hahaha look how scared you are. Unbelievable. F****** Pu$$y. We took out a terrorist high on our target list. And you’re worried?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Won't get to $4.

Jan 3, 2020, 8:43 AM [ in reply to Re: One missile. One explosion. Two dead Iranian military ]

There's a sweet spot in the price way before $4, at least what would be $4 in SC. At $4/gallon we could literally replace Iran and Iraq's oil on the market with increased production. It's there, and the oil price is the only limit to getting it all. Not worried about gas.

Honestly, I'd be most worried about our oil refineries than the price of crude. We're not building any new ones, just adding onto existing ones (thanks environmentalists). So we have MASSIVE refineries, and few in number. Sabotage just 2-3 of them and we're toast.

a new one came online in 2019

Good thing the last one came online in 1977***

Jan 3, 2020, 9:31 AM

However, the newest refinery with significant downstream unit capacity is Marathon's facility in Garyville, Louisiana. That facility came online in 1977 with an initial atmospheric distillation unit capacity of 200,000 b/cd, and as of January 1, 2019, it had a capacity of 564,000 b/cd.
