so it appears the 2019 class is not going to be as big

as anticipated.

What's the plan if several JRs leave early ?

Next year could be a great year to be a Clemson walk-on.

A team can only take 72 players on the road, so if Clemson is under 85 they’ll just save the scholarship for next year.

You can't save the scholarship

Need to have all 85 accounted for in the Fall to be able to go OVER 85 in the spring with early enrollees. That's part of the mid-year replacement rule.

So we add Crouch, Davis, and two 3* OL; and we have 28 recruits. So how is the class not as big as we thought?

I was wondering the same thing. Tying 2011 for Dabo's biggest class ever...

I have a feeling that we won't have a lot of attrition this year. No one in the junior class besides Dexter has really stood out far and away to be able to have a legitimate chance at being drafted higher than 5th round. We have a few that COULD make the leap (Tre, Trayvon) but for the most part, it's not quite time.

The most NFL ready lineman we have is Hyatt, and he may not be a lock for first round.
I don't see any other lineman with a better draft stock than he does at any eligibility year on this squad.

Tavien shouldn't enter.

K'von and Tanner aren't quite ready.

Eh. I'm just not seeing it.

It's not always if the player is ready for the draft. Sometimes if there is a better player behind them on the roster they will enter the draft. I think Deon and Ray-Ray both could have used another year but they had Tee and Amari nipping at their heels. We don't have that with any of our starting JRs this year. Tre and Trayvon should wait. No one is taking their starting jobs and they could be All-Americans next year.

Only JR's I see leaving are Dex and maybe Trayvon or Tre.

Say what?

Dec 12, 2018, 4:10 PM

We're currently sitting on 24 commits

Factor in....

DT Tyler Davis
ATH Quavaris Crouch
OL Will Putnam
RB Jerrion Ealy
OL yet to be named

That would give us 29, which is more than we have had in a very long time

And then there is 3 weeks after the NCG to work on

Dec 12, 2018, 4:40 PM

uncommitted players that fit a need.
