can you watch things like

NBC Sports Live Extra
CBSSports.com Live
Fox Sports Go

etc....

Here's all the Roku sports channels

there is a catch to some of these

Aug 9, 2015, 6:09 PM

Some of the channels listed above, such as NBC Sports, Tennis Channel, ESPN and ESPN2 to name a few, require that you have a cable subscription to the channel to watch live content. It isn't hard to bum a buddy's username and password but if you cut cable all together just know that some of this content is not going to be there.

Check out slingtv. Just got it for roku and will be using it to watch games this season. They have an extra sports package for 5 bucks more a month.

sling tv is a good option...

and I have it myself. The extra sports pack will give you all of the ESPN channels including SEC network, but it will not give you NBC sports as was mentioned in the original post. There are a few channels that still require a cable subscription but sling TV is the best option if you have no friends that will loan you their login info.

SlingTV to get ESPN and a digital antenna to get the locals in HD. You're all set.
