Campbell country high school in Tennessee uses the Clemson Tiger paw logo. They even keep it at 1:00. The only difference I can see is that they don't always have the crack in the heel. https://twitter.com/cchs_cougars?lang=en

other teams permission to use our paw mark, whatever time it shadows. Or we don't bother anyone lest it's a profit thing. We were pretty far ahead of the trademark / logo thing early on with that one.

I used to work in a facet of this industry - there's a ton of that. These schools will openly "Hey, we want our logo to be the same as XYZ, but with these colors". I did a HS football field where there logos were an exact replica of WV's lettering and a Ford Mustang emblem - exact same. Being that they're just High Schools, if they get caught, the Universities will look the other way or make them pay $1, as the potential for backlash is too high.

Happened to a high school here in Illinois. They had previously given them the ok to use it and then came after them a few years later. Had to redo everything from letterhead to uniforms.
