The polls need to take more stock in how a game is played.
If it was a close game that should be the drop.
That game, it should be a drop to outside the top 10!!!!
This is whats wrong with the polls. Just one of the many!
They still make it in to the 4 team playoff after that ### kicking!!! ###!

As the SEC homers will tell you, and might even be correct,
IF ND had played two more SEC teams, they would have three losses.
NIU has two losses now, still shoudlnt be in the top 20 because of it!
ND had many close escapes, and they should be taken account also. THE SOS, only comes in to play on wins, and also doesnt take account the game itself.
ND, even playing Pitt to a win like it did, shouldnt be considered a win to put them in the top ten.
A close win to a good team ok, a close one to a bad team should be taken into account.

What I don't get is that an 8- or even 16-team playoff is almost guaranteed to make more money just because of the superior matchups it would create (really, who the hell wanted to see FSU/NIU). It's not like it's a losing proposition. It's a way to not only make the system more relevant, but also make a pile of cash doing it.
If a 32-team football league can have 12 teams in the playoffs, why wouldn't a 120-team league have at least 12 or 16?

Follow the money.
People argue that it will devalue the regular season. The NFL is the most popular sport in the country. They don't seem to have a problem with the popularity of their regular season games.

they have absolutely no meaning to the game as a whole at all. Can you imagine doing something so stupid in any other sport in America to pick the top teams? Voting on it????

The polls will still be used to decide who plays in the playoffs. I want a playoff system, but it will still be based on sometimes flawed polls.
And UF has no business being above L'ville, nor LSU above us. JMO
