By a new car.

What do many do who hate their job after a year of working?

Go back to college.

Many of those others were two at a time deals..like I had most of the jeep CJ's and drove something else. Same with the Fiat, and the Cutlass and the Sentra.

(except for the RX8 which drank oil like a 1987 Range Rover). I'm just saying....Murc seems to be a car guy. You can't be a true car guy and get tunnel vision on a country of origin. You can't really have lived the car life until you've been stranded on the side of the road, cursing Italian or British build quality, or felt the vault-like "thunk" as you closed the door on something 80's and German, or gotten in a pizzzing contest with a good old boy over why your GM would embarrass his Ford.

Variety is the spice of car enthusiast life, my man.

66 GTO, 67 SS Chevelle, 59 Ford station wagon, 71 Vega and 73 350ci Camaro split front bumper,

67 Chevy II SS w/327ci, 12 bolt rearend W/ 513 gear, Super T10 BW transmission w/364 low gear, 40lb flywheel, Hurst Supershifter, 325hp head w/3 angle valve job/chevy orange springs and zero rocker arms, 12.5 to 1 trw pistons, steel crank, pink rods, lakewood blow proof bell housing, power brute U joint, safety loop on shaft and JC Penny headers.*

Detroit went crazy in the mid 70s and haven't made a good car since. Nothing but junk between that Chevy II and the Mercedes I bought in the 1990s.

* I would have used a better pair of headers but JC Penny made the only headers for a V8 Chevy II and I wasn't about to cut my fender wells for love nor money.

I'll have my black 85 300SD/380SE project done in the next few months and I'll post some picture of the restoration.

1985 Jeep Cherokee LTD (pictured yesterday) - bought Dec '97 from fam friends for $1500, beater that I beat up even more, sold for $4300 9 months later. Was at Clemson then, so didn't get another car until...

1989 Jeep Wrangler Sahara - bought in May '98 w/ the $4300 + another $200. No AC and no radio. Drove around with a boombox in the back seat and tapes of Jamiroquai and Prodigy. YEAH '90s! Kept it thru undergrad, sold it to Clemson 4x4 for $2800 in June '01. Was happy to get rid of it....for about 2 days. Missed it ever since. Horrible car.

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD - bought from uncle in ATL, May '01. Was moving back to NJ after graduating...Wrangler prob wouldn't make it, DEF wouldn't hold all my stuff. Was nice when i got it, complete POS when I sold it 13.5 years later in Oct '14. Had those '95 plush AF seats instead of what they went to in '96.

2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid LTD - bought June '11, Hand-me-over from SheGUAR in Nov '14 since she wanted new car, and I DGAF. Still driving it. Won't die. Have had minimal problems with it. Not the sexiest car, but I make up for it. 1st owner was Paul Newman. FIGHT ME.
