If this tidbit from Ivan Maisel doesn't say it all about which camp our feathered friends reside in, then I don't know what does:
Next time you think about parity in college football, think about this: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee – six of 14 SEC members – have won the last 37 league championships. Kentucky shared the 1976 championship with Georgia. Before that, you have to go back to 1963, when Ole Miss won and 200-pound linemen roamed the earth. Not to mention that none of the four SEC expansion teams (Arkansas and South Carolina, 1992; Missouri and Texas A&M, 2012) has won the league.

The prospect to inviting $CU was a fall-back position after the $EC's top candidates (FSU and Texas) declined the leagues invitation to join.
$CU is affectionately referred to as "The University of Second Choice". In reality, they're no better than 4th choice behind (at least) FSU, Texas and Arkansas.

but we won the SEC and lost by 70 in the Orange Bowl by a weak Big East team.....dude we know we still have a way to go and love our direction. We are not ashamed, we just stepped forward and I guess...not sure...have beaten and been ranked above you guys for quite a while. Does it erase the past...NO...but it sure is the present....

You have watched the BCS Orange Bowl on TV, you have seen pictures of the BCS Orange Bowl, you have seen other people make plans to attend the BCS Orange Bowl.

Lost by 37. This is the low point of recent Clemson athletics.
South Carolina vs. Auburn:56-17, SEC Championship Game.
