a friend just got a Traeger electric "smoker"

is that legit, or is it the vape pen of smoking meat?

I've heard good things about Traeger, but have never cooked

with one.

I've used a vertical electric smoker and an infrared smoker before and they both did a decent job.

I'm deciding between the two below atm. Wife wants me to get rid of some of my grills so I'm using that as an excuse to pair down and get a nice smoker/charcoal grill to go along with the Weber gas grill.

or a Large size Big Green Egg.

Any advice from the audience?

Fbcooch uses a filing cabinet. You could ask him for the setup

the PK. I could tailgate/camp/etc. with the PK.

I also have a couple of friends that have inherited 30+ year old PKs that are still in great shape and grill like a champ. Gotta love that build quality.

Loves it.

I enjoy using it at their house.

He's had it for quite a while 10-ish yrs.

Only down side is that he's never really experimented with it. Just a basic grill really.

I have had a traeger for about 5 years and love it. Set the temp and walk away. Very easy
