Zacch Pickens

The Coots seem to think he’s a lock because he grew up a Gamecock fan. I sure hope that’s not the case. He’s head and shoulders the #1 player in SC for 2019.

it boils down to being able to play for best defensive coordinator and one of the top rated defenses in the nation or playing for an $CU defense which...well...isn't.

He actually spat on Twitter about the article in The State that Kornbutt wrote, wondering where he got that information (he grew up a coot, and rooted for the coots).
His mom got pretty ticked about it too, wondering where that info came from and saying no one was allowed to interview her son without her permission. Again, lazy garnet-colored journalism by Kornbutt.

seems to go out of his way to make himself look like a complete buffoon. To his credit though, he does it really well.

Kornblutt shouldn’t be allowed in Clemson

Lately he has really taken it upon himself to try to keep the coots in any conversation about Clemson. He tries to make us even which we are not. He obviously was told in cootville that you drink the kool aid or get no interviews. He spends all day eating, scratching and reading the internet and oh yeah, taking input from the coots....time for his sorry show.

Kornblut and Robert McRae should have their media credentials revoked.

He's one of the best players in the country and by far the best player in SC this 19 cycle. I've also seen where Coots think they are going to get him but they said the same thing about XT this past cycle. The only thing they can offer him over us is early PT but with our history of producing NFL DE we def have a great shot at him. With landing XT, KJ, and mascoll this past class and the talent we already have Pickens will have a lot of competition on the defensive line. Early PT can be a big factor so never can tell, but when clemson puts the sights on a top in state guy we usually land him. I really want to land Pickens bc he is a beast and of course a SC native. Only time will tell but Coots do have a shot at landing him so won't say they are delusional on this one but we are Clemson and they are uscjr ??. Go Tigers!!

Pretty sure we're losing at least 4 DEs after this season so

that would be a good message for Mr. Pickens. Even though, we'll have good talent still here he can still come in and prove himself and get PT.

Yea i def agree with that, if he is as good as advertised and looks in film then he def has a shot to come and and compete for PT. Just really meant the Coots will prob say at clemson you got to fight for PT with XT and KJ and so on, but here you would be the best player on the dline by far and can be the defensive star. Some kids love that but most of these elite guys want the competition and want to beat out the best to be the best. Why bama and clemson continues to get 5 stars every cycle bc those guys want to play for the best even tho they have to compete with other 5 stars. Pickens can def get in the 2 deep his first year and get a good bit of PT if he works hard and is as good as advertised. Hope we land him, always love to get a home grown 5 star elite talent to wear the Paw!! Go Tigers!!

The logical transition for an upper level type player I would think would be to go into a situation in college where you're surrounded by the same level kids , making you better by making you work that much harder to prove yourself . You'll need to do it FOR SURE on the transition from CFB to the NFL ...so why not do it at the first opportunity ?
If he is as good as advertised, he'd be better off with Clemson or one of the other few elite programs .

Forever labeled a Coot because of one ill-advised decision to vote for Bruce Perry over Woody Dantzler for ACCPOY during Dantzler's 2000 and 1000 season; a decision I still disagree with.

IF the tigers don't get him, this may very well be a case of their recruiting success on the D-line working against them.
