Hypothetical question- can and should we decline

all interviews next year? It seemed the more our staff and players did, the more ridiculing the media did afterwards. Wouldn’t it be nice to be “strictly business” the entire year and give no one access to our team or coaching staff, leaving the media empty of post interview criticism? Again, hypothetical.

I don't think this would be very good. Would probably just generate more bad publicity. As long as Dabo and everyone else is honest and polite, this is all they can do. No one can control what the media says.

Yeah, I guess you’re right, but it seems everyone wants their exclusive interview only to bash us afterwards. Whining, Roy bus jokes, disrespected, and so on. The ACC will probably still be the laughing stock in college football, so in anticipation of the pundits, just starve them of any Clemson intel until after our season ends either in a NC game or other. Make them appreciate Dabo and company’s time and not talk junk behind their backs after they spend time interviewing.

That’s what I’m eluding to. Shock them with silence and I bet they change their tune a little.

Absolutely not the interviews and coverage are just a part of being a relevant program. Let the haters hate!

That also puts the media in complete control of the message. Yes Dabo took some criticism in comments arguing that the team was underappreciated, but the media found itself back peddling on comments that they had made as well. Dabo has done a good job of controlling the narrative thus far, and likely will in the future as well.

I think it's good for business to have Dabo front and center.

Absolutley not. The more Dabo and Brent and Tony speak the better it is for Clemson. People who aren't "Clemson haters" are impressed by Dabo and the system he has created. Class, integrity, character.
I will guarantee you Dabo has a far more positive reputation across the football fan world than Paul Finebaum does.
