in 2014.
too much to replace. schedule toughens up.
If I had to guess an exact number right now.....8-4.
Not bad for a rebuilding year though.

"9 wins at best"..."at best"
If you had to guess you'd say 8-4, so which ones are we losing?
I'm guessing you could see us going 7-5 too right? What other games do you see us losing?

Busy week with games and practice.
@ UGA - 2 very even teams. We won due to home field last year. I think they do the same. Very difficult on 1st year starting QB to win in that environment.
@ FSU - they may be even better next year. Scary good.
no shame in those 1st 2 losses. Very, Very good teams.
The stretch with UNC, NCST and Lousiville at home. We lose 1 of those 3. Hopefully not 2. Best bet in Louisville, but NCST has been a thorn and UNC will be the faves in the Coastal.
@ GT is intriguing but I think PJ is on the way out in ATL. We should win that one but not a shoe in.
SC at home. Until we beat them, not assuming anything.
Schedule much tougher. Thats 7 possibilities right there, nit counting @ BC or @ Wake on Thurs night. Dabo traditionally goes about .500 in toss up games, so 3-4 losses minimum. That is his track record.

Another F-ing clucker, I bet you also see us losing to your disgusting yard buzzards also right. Well you do have us going 6/6 which is impossible. As a real Tiger fan that understands our D will be better than any you cluckers have had. I see us going 10/1 regular season. And earning a play off spot. And our coaches probably see close to the same. Don't forget that we out TALENT you idiot coots across the board. We will reload, and until your drunken coach tries to recruit, coots return to bottom feeder status where you belong. Back to riding sec coat tails!!!!!!!!!!!

So you're sure that our best case scenario is losing 3 games. To you there are 3 games on our schedule next year that Clemson simply cannot win?
Care to point those out?

ECU.
The interesting thing for you guys is how different your opponents will look. Texas A&M without Manzel will be a completely different team. Georgia without Murray will be a different team (although Georgia should be a defensive team with a solid run game). Lucky for you the SEC East is very weak in football. I could see eight wins but it wouldn't surprise me if you got nine.

ECU is returning their QB and most starters. They beat UNC, NC state, and almost beat VA tech last year. Coots could lose that game.

with. Excluding bowl game I think 9 likely, but 10 as reasonable as 8. I'm thinking we may be better than you think. Someone usually steps up. T Martin did not "replace" Peyton Manning, but the team did OK. Not saying we're going undefeated - just sayin.

thats fair.
Our defense will give us a chance to win 10. But, if they have a bad day we will drop a game or 2. 8 is much more likely than 10 in 2014 IMO.
Just the way I see it. Doesn't make it gospel.

So UGA without Murray and UL without Bridgewater and a new head coach are not rebuilding either? I think you are giving both of those squads too much credit, especially Louisville. They both have as much to replace as we do. UNC is the only team on our shcedule that I see a being better than last season. UL and SCAR are both replacing as much as we are. I think we have a great shot of getting to 10 wins. Our ground game will be key.

I predict we'll finish with that one loss and be on the bubble but barely miss a playoff berth. We'll get dumped for a conference champion with a lower ranking in the traditional polls.

I think 9 wins is reasonable for both programs in the state. I also think 8 or 11 is reasonable. I think with shaw and boyd being gone we are not really going to know our teams until several games are played. I know a lot of fans on both sides seem very confident in the next guys in line but those two quarterbacks have been leaders and very stable producers for our respective teams. When you lose guys like that you really don't know the effect just by looking at the new guy's stats or recruiting evals.

I don't have a problem with anyone making predictions,

regardless of affiliation, simply because most of us do it, publicly and privately.
In fact a close friend, who is a diehard Clemson fan, recently predicted the same as you have. When he asked my thoughts, I responded that my optimism expects another highly successful season. The pragmatic side cautions to watch our season unfold beginning with the Georgia game.
I do know this: UGA, FSU and SC will be tough, and LV and UNC will be interesting. The key is that Georgia game, a win being important for confidence-building with a new QB in place.
The best development IMO would be for one of our QB's to step up to the plate, so to speak, take a highly-visible, decisive control of the team, ala Peyton Manning, and have the team rally around him. If one emerges thusly early on, then we may have more reason to be optimistic.
Defensively, I'm willing to leave our progress in the capable hands of BV, who is definitely a "Nut Cutter." I expect our defense to be formidable this year.
Specifically, I'll hold my aces for now, expect success and pray to the Almighty that among other victories, the "peating" business comes to a screeching halt this year!

for the dignified response.
I am also a die hard Clemson fan...have been my entire life. No choice when you grow up outside of the stadium.
Its terrible that realistic fans get labeled on here because the pumpers can't deal with reality.
We might go 11-1 or 10-2 next year. it is definitely possible, just not likely when you consider the unknowns and a tougher schedule.
And again - anyone who questions my affiliation - just ask Mr Crumpton ("crump") who I "pull for". You will be floored by the answer.

risk. there are always ways to better exercise & express your or the "right" to your reality.
it sure 'seemed' like you felt yours was the only one or the only 'right' way with this, "the pumpers can't deal with reality."
you might as well wear a swastika or attack the baby jesus by calling them out.
you're just axin for it; know wut i mean?

if i had put that in the OP RE: pumpers.
"9 wins at best" was simply my opinion. the more i think about it, it may be closer to 8.

you're not just judged by that one post, it was low hanging

fruit; the tone doesn't change nor did you "dishonestly" earn your pulse after 350+ posts.
8 seems low, but they haven't even named a starter at qb yet. lots of snaps between now and between the hedges.

those first posts were negative towards Dabo, not Clemson. You will never hear/see me bashing Clemson. That pulse rate exists because of a difference in opinion on our Head Coach, not CU.

either deal with the repercussions or learn a better, wiser way.
it's pretty simple.

thats just it - i didn't "bash" anyone. I just call things like I see them. I made a few statements about what I observed and got slammed. Sorry - but the truth is the truth. If Dabo or 1 of our coaches does something worth calling out - then I am gonna call them out. Doesn't mean that I dislike them (although I really dislike Dabo as a "professional") or that I hate CU.
as I have pointed out many times on here: I love CU and dislike Dabo. I am sure the "coots" feel quite the opposite.

here we go again, it's YOUR reality and they don't share it,

which makes your approach the difference maker as far as i can tell.
if you don't care, don't wail about 'realistic fans get labeled on here because the pumpers can't deal with reality.'
you're no more 'realistic' than they are. you're both extremes from my pov.
you're no more right, your truth in your opinion is just as subjective as theirs.
it's pretty easy to see from this exchange how you got to 46%.
if you don't care, don't cry & carry on.
good luck.

Never.
I picked this name after I left another site (TI).
It was tongue in cheek.

"The key is that Georgia game, a win being important for confidence-building with a new QB in place."
I agree with this 100%. UGA is going to be the key.
