Yet another playoff idea - don't think I've seen this one.
Probably means it's a bad idea.
Power 5 conference championship games are considered first rough of playoffs. (Perhaps require conferences to put their two highest ranked teams in the game)
The 6 highest ranked teams that are not playing in a P5 championship game are invited to play in thee additional first round games the same weekend as conference championship games. Non Power 5 teams like UCF may have to decide to forgo their conference championship games in order to play in the playoff game - sucks for the conference but at least it give you a chance. This keeps ND and a team like Bama last year from taking a week off.
Second round played the next week with seeding determined by committee after first round.
Final four played on current schedule.

Doesn't really fix the problem of Georgia having to play #1 alabama while Clemson played Pitt and Ohio State played Northwestern.

Georgia wouldn't have had to play bama if your team would have only scored 25 more points on them. You've got to take a little ownership of this problem you've diagnosed but also contributed to.

Wasn't that long ago that Florida was playing a 7-4 Razorback team in the SEC Championship. Get off your high horse, coot. UGA lost to an average LSU team and Bama with a 2nd team QB - they're lucky they are in the Sugar. It must feel lousy that you have to argue for other teams strength in your conference and wear Roll Tide hats thru the bowl season.

Yeah I assumed that's what he meant but an 8-3 team in the 90s is like a 9-3 team today.
A 7-4 today is like a 6-4 team in the 90s.
