I just learned something about grounding the ball

Once you hand the ball off (as in flea-flicker play) and receive the ball back, you are not allowed to just throw the ball away unless an eligible receiver is in the area.

USC just had it called on them. I never knew that.

Same thing happened in the Auburn game. Auburn fans were whining about the grounding call but it was absolutely the correct call. Legal grounding only applies to the player that takes the snap.
