Lawton Swann and Columbia sports radio

if you live in Columbia you're probably aware that 560 WVOC gutted their local sports talk yesterday dropping local coverage from 6AM-3PM. Was glad to hear Lawton still on the air last night from 6-8PM, but if you are a business that advertises in the Columbia area, and especially a Clemson fan, I hope you'll seriously consider advertising on Swanny's show. Radio execs care about only one thing, $$$$$$$$$$$. Lawton's a breath of fresh air for us Clemson fans here in Columbia, but he's also the best local sports talk host in the area. Not even really close. Give him a look

Thanks for posting this. It's great having a Clemson show here. I listen to his show every day on my home from work. I will definitely support him.

I'm actually going to miss the cootfest there most of the day though. Has been thoroughly entertaining this year  Actually feel bad for Teddy Heffner, guy is in his 60's and been on the air there 25 years

I enjoyed listening to Teddy. His coot sidekick not so much. They were definately better than the national guys that took there place this morning.

turn people away in droves. But radio isn't about ratings on the local level, it's about the bottom line. Most hosts sell their own advertising to stay on the air, and apparently the profit from carrying shows no one will listen too is more than carrying local talk many will yet generates less bottom line dollars.
