Would a Mizzou win?

Dec 4, 2014, 3:11 PM

cause a Bama team to drop out of the top 4?

I'll bet they wouldn't because of the bias. They would only drop to #4

No way the selection committee is gonna do that

No SEC team in the playoff?

Dec 4, 2014, 3:19 PM

Never gonna happen.

I posed that same question to Braden Gall and Chris Childers. No answer, but when I posed the same about FSU dropping out if they lose they gave a quick Yes. I agree with them

Bama would drop out of top 4, but Mizzou would jump to #4. The SEC will not get left out by the committee under any circumstances.

Mizzou will not come close to beating Alabama.***

wouldn't it be fun to see though

Dec 4, 2014, 4:48 PM

if the miserable SEC East won the most awesome, vaunted, tremendous, conference ever in the history of college football!

How would ESPN spin that?

I hate those jack wads

It would be entertaining to watch them try.

I don't think it'll happen...mostly because the SEC is going to protect the brand, and Mizzou will also be playing the refs.

I'll still be rooting hard for Mizzou. A team with a loss to Indiana and a 34-0 home loss to UGA will NOT get into the playoffs, and there's just no way - none - to justify having Alabama in the Top-4 if they don't even win the SEC.

Starting the playoffs with four teams was always a bad idea. We need automatic berths for all the top five conference champs, an automatic bid for the highest-ranked of the mid-majors, and then two at-large berths the "selection committee" can argue over. Let the political stuff happen with the #7 and #8 teams; that's where it belongs. Elsewhere - settle it on the field, the way every other league, in all other sports, across the world actually does it.

I really hope the East wins...go MIZZ

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Bama is beatable

I wouldn't put money on it, but I wouldn't be shocked if it happened. I'll definitely be pulling for Missouri!

If they can slow down Alabama's running game, they have a shot.

Zero chance Bama drops out of the top 4

Dec 4, 2014, 4:51 PM

unless they figure out a way to get another SEC team in there instead

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Of course they would drop out.***

And would be icing on the cake

Dec 4, 2014, 5:03 PM

But ain't gonna happen

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Meanwhile, don't be surprised when FSU drops again

Dec 4, 2014, 5:05 PM

If they don't blow out GT in the ACCCG

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

FSU will never get left out at 13-0.

Dec 4, 2014, 7:54 PM

I don't really have a problem with them being a 3-4 seed bc I really don't think they've been that good this year, but there's 0 chance they get left out.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Should. They'd be 2-2 vs. ranked teams (none top 10)***

Alabama might drop out but I am sure Indiana would move in!??

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

considering no sec team..

Dec 4, 2014, 6:43 PM

has dropped out of the playoff being ranked number one then losing yet.it wont happen now

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Clemson will be in the Citrus Bowl so long as Bama stays in

Dec 4, 2014, 7:06 PM

The top 4

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Would a Mizzou win?

Dec 4, 2014, 7:12 PM

no!! they would not drop out... BUT; with the terrible ESPN bias Mizz might get into the top 4!!

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Of course they would, and anyone who says otherwise

Dec 4, 2014, 7:18 PM

is just doing so because it's "cool" on tigernet to think the committee is that biased.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Would love to see Bama lose, just to see...

Dec 5, 2014, 11:43 PM

what the committee would do. If OhSt loses, Bama would stay in the top four for sure, and I am betting on OhSt losing. Then, it would be either a two loss Bama representing the SEC or putting in two Big 12 teams, which i don't think they want to do.
One guideline the committee should have is, a conference championship is a high priority. In that scenario this year, if Wisconsin wins and Bama loses, Wisconsin would have the edge over Bama, because they won their conference. A team that doesn't win their conference shouldn't get in unless they are clearly superior, and with a better record than the other contenders.
