World Premier! Clemson Historic Game Day Program Video

Feb 20, 2020, 5:41 PM

Thanks to each of you that submitted photos of your historic game day programs. I received a great collection!

Some are great memories of my childhood.
Some are great recent memories on this incredible stretch run we are on.
And some I had never seen before....even has a Clemson history buff!

I hope you enjoy. Go Tigers!

Good stuff, I remember selling programs in the 60's when I was a kid! Brought back some great memories.

The creativity of some of those '60's programs just amazes

me. I also love the action photo programs from the 70's and 80's.

Programs today almost look too "slick" if that makes sense.

Thanks for the kind words about the video.

Scott, who drew most of the comic book style programs that dominated the 1960s? They all look to have been produced by the same artist or firm. Were such programs unique to Clemson or was that the dominant style of that era?

Harley® it was most certainly the style of that era

you can see from this link some similar Auburn covers

But I have not yet been able to find the artist.

There must have been a firm or individual who drew those covers for many universities. It would be fun to know who did them all.

I've never been a collector (of anything but junk) but I like looking at the stuff others have from the 50s, 60s and 70s.

Remember game day corsages sold as fund raisers? Old couple walking up, the seller says, "Sir would you like a corsage for your date?" College couple walking up in the late 60s, guy is wearing a sports coat, girl is wearing a nice dress, the seller say, "Excuse me, would you like to buy a corsage for your wife?"
