Wonder if Dabo took notes in Tuscaloosa on how to prepare

Oct 16, 2017, 10:58 AM

your team to handle their business against a crap opponent?

Teams lose games they shouldn't all the time, but Saban doesn't lose games to teams like Syracuse.

I think the team was looking ahead to the bye week and Dabo was looking forward to his Bama trip while Syracuse was preparing to kick our tails.

It rips my heart out to say it, but yes, they were better prepared and deserved to win. Now I need a shower.

Game is tied 24-24, we get the ball on 'cuse 40.

Oct 16, 2017, 11:06 AM

We pound Feaster. Feaster again. Cooper with a QB run.

Then all of a sudden, on 1st down on the 19, we drop Cooper back, ETN misses the blitz, and now we're screwed.

Why do you put Cooper in that situation?? We were pounding them with the run. Don't call a drop back pass and risk getting put behind the chains. Don't take Feaster out and put ETN in the game to try and pass block. Run the ball.

Of course, we don't convert the 1st down and miss the FG. Just run the football. Tony Elliot is always very patient with the run game until Syracuse. Crazy man.

Maybe if they lost their staring QB, had a weak backup, then

Oct 16, 2017, 11:06 AM

lost their kicker, they might potentially be upset. When were they in that scenario on the road again?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We have the former #1 QB in the nation as our backup.

Oct 16, 2017, 11:08 AM

But apparently he can't beat out Cooper.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

and? Maybe he isn't ready or that great?

Oct 16, 2017, 11:10 AM

We don't know. He wouldn't be the first. It happens all the time where 5 star QB's actually never pan out.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It was a complete lack of focus by everyone. We had all week

Oct 16, 2017, 11:16 AM

knowing that KB was banged up and may be limited. It wasn't some huge surprise.

Defense was embarrassing. Looked completely unprepared.

Then why was his redshirt burned.

Maybe we are looking ahead to TL next year?***

He looked pretty dang good against Wake's first string defense last game. I won't question the staff thinking a hurt Kelly Bryant gives the best chance. I won't question the staff sending Cooper out first as the backup. But I certainly question them not giving Johnson a shot after he'd outplayed Cooper in every game they've been in and Cooper couldn't make the passes needed to move the chains in the 3rd quarter. There is no explaining away that decision. Also no explaining away why our star RBs carried the ball 12 total times.

Alabama? 2015 vs Ole Miss.

Except, they were in Tuscaloosa.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

2015 Ole Miss > 2017 Syracuse

Oct 18, 2017, 11:19 AM

Ole Miss was a good team that year. Syracuse is not.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There's something in these hills.

Venables forgot that Syracuse goes fast.

Oct 16, 2017, 11:11 AM

We can't even get the calls in before the ball is snapped.

Defense is standing around looking at each other with no clue what's going on.

Tanner Muse is somehow stuck covering their best WR. They run the clock out with over 6 minutes left in the 3rd quarter just pounding the ball on us. Craziest thing I've seen in a long time.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

oh good...

Oct 16, 2017, 11:14 AM

another coach that has the benefit of his subjective dream world that demonstrates how he knows more than the coaches.

It's a fact man. Saban doesn't lose to bad teams.

Oct 16, 2017, 11:26 AM

And maybe it's not fair to put Clemson at the same level as Bama.

Which I understand that.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Are there any other teams/coaches that don't lose to....

Oct 16, 2017, 11:47 AM

"bad teams?"

They pretty much have the top class every year, have unlimited resources for football, and Saban pretty much tells the NCAA what to do.

When we beat them, Sabian was on the plane evaluating why they lost. Maybe that's great for him. Winning is his life.

It's easy to be a Bama fan, maybe even boring.

Dabo has created a wonderful atmosphere that is only going to get better and top recruits are noticing.

For me, I'll take Dabo and his family atmosphere as opposed to the Saban machine, even if it comes with a let down every so often.

I know you are just a troll. That is all you are a troll.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not trolling at all. Just haven't vented yet.

Oct 16, 2017, 11:36 AM

It's just amazing how unprepared we looked. Especially on defense. We haven't had any busts all year.

Then all of a sudden... bust, bust, bust. Big play after big play. Not set before the snap.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Not trolling at all. Just haven't vented yet.

Oct 17, 2017, 11:49 AM

So you really think that the coaches and the player's entire attitude and philosophy changed for this one week? How about Syracuse outplayed them. A loss does not always mean failure of the losing team as much as it does success of the winner!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The Bama staff is still searching for how Dabo and Clemson

Oct 16, 2017, 11:29 AM

won the National Championship.

They were obviously unprepared.*****

Can you say Louisiana Monroe, boys and girls? I knew

Oct 18, 2017, 10:40 AM

you could. Granted, it was back in 2007, when Bama UNDER SABAN went 6-6 in the regular season, his first year there. They officially are now listed at 2-6, for that season, since they were later forced to vacate 4 wins due to using ineligible players.
