Back in the day....

Nov 2, 2012, 12:09 PM

when I was a student-athlete at Clemson. we scrimmaged Lander in soccer at Riggs. At the time, Lander was an NAIA school. I remember two things about them;

1 - While Clemson won, they were a very scrappy little team that played us pretty close, and

2 - They brought a whole bunch of really nice looking wimmins with them to the scrimmage.

So the Lander Lillies were in full effect?

My dad worked at Lander for 30 years so I've seen a ton of Lander bball games. Nice looking wimmins and actually played OK in the mid-90's or so in whatever division they were in.

Not only did I take a couple of Summer School classes at Lander, I had several friends who attended school there so I'm have definitely spent some time on the campus. To say that school had it fair share of eye candy would be a gross understatement. Back in the day, I believe their student enrollment was something like a 6 to 1 female to male ratio.

Took deliveries there a few times. Definitley some ladies

walking around there. They don't like you staring at them though which I found offensive.

So the Female to Male ratio at Lander makes a lot of sense to me. ;)

It's still 2:1 to this day.

New AD strongly supports this free game. In fine print it says -- you will be charged $20 should you ever want to exit the Colesium.

Will the seats right on the floor be available to everyone

Nov 2, 2012, 12:29 PM

or will they rope off the riff raff and continue to let the season ticket holders use their regular seats?

ol Coach Finis Horne did have some pretty good Lander teams back in the early 90s I recall. I cant remember the kids name but they had a point guard that was a pretty special player. He probably averaged around 20 pts a game.

Havent kept up with Lander basketball in recent years. they do have an nice little arena they built back in the Mid 90s.

And of course ol Tennis Legend Coach Joe Cabri won about 8 straight tennis titles there. They beat Georgia one year I recall.
