Will Auburn be Dabo's biggest road win to date?

Aug 22, 2016, 5:33 PM

Or 2011 VT?

That 2011 VT road win really seemed to get everything going. But winning at Auburn will continue to add to Dabo's legacy. Winning in Atlanta will cure some demons. Winning in Tallahassee would really blow the lid off this program even more.

While I agree Auburn would be huge, I think 2011 VT gets the nod for me. They were ranked #11 at the time and although we were ranked #13, most everyone outside of Clemson thought us to be big underdogs on the road at night in Lane Stadium against a Virginia Tech team that at that time hardly ever lost there. What a memorable three week stretch that was taking down Auburn, FSU, and VT in succession. Just my thoughts on it.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane... I can't remember that month like it was yesterday! Great call.

Our "easy" road to the NC is likely to include 3 ACC games against 10 game winners and one of the four playoff teams. Looks pretty tough to me.

That was a heck of a run. I don't think anyone thought we could pull that off and wondered what must the AD have been thinking.

Don't know if that is accurate, but I like the way you think.

How is Miami in 2015 in both games not take precedence?

Miami is not a very difficult environment. The 2009

Miami win was very impressive and could also be under consideration.

That was the only time I was convinced Dabo let the dogs run.

IMO this is the biggest regular season game in Clemson history.
Win this game and the road to the NC is the easiest
in the nation.
For a team as talented as Clemson.
Lose and the season will already be some what of a disappointment .
A 10-2 or 11-1 season is good and I will be happy but winning it all is the expectation.

I agree. If both Clemson and FSU go chalk leading up to this game, this will hands down be the biggest road win by a mile.

I would say yes because of the level we are on now. First game of the season against a highly respectable program while having the highest preseason ranking in school history.

Dabo will have everyone BYOG and doesn't let off the gas until late in the 4th!
