Matthew LeCroy interview

Matt interviewed for the vacant baseball job here at Clemson yesterday. He is the bullpen coach for the Washington Nationals and a former Clemson player. Former Clemson player and former Greenville Drive manager Billy McMillon also interviewed yesterday.
However, from everything I am hearing, this will get done sooner rather than later and Monte Lee is the name I keep hearing.

their beliefs or values or convictions ultimately supported the notion of what was best for clemson.
the people that suggest otherwise just because someone stood on the opposite side of the fence are very short-sighted.

The news paper thingyy was exactly that!!! Yep it was a poor jack, so what if we're not playing in the super regional, what about Jack deserving better, and his job!!!

Well if they are set on M Lee, why don't they just announce it? Why keep interviewing people that they are not going to hire?

makes no sense. m lecroy is not even a hirable candidate. if lee is the guy, name him and move forward.

He's been a manager in Low A, High A, and AA, a Major League bullpen coach, and as a player was a College All-American, Olympian, and Major League starter.
I'm not saying take him over established college coaches necessarily, but he'd be higher on my list than Mazey.

Thanks David, imfo has been really slow coming after everything with Jack was said and done. I could be wrong, but I've thought it would be Lee since his name kept popping up before Jack was even fired. And I'm OK with Lee, but I'm also hoping that DRad doesn't have tunnel vision/memory of just Lee. Or I hope that he doesn't lock in on Lee until Sully has told him NO and H&LL NO, not a snowball chance in H&LL, h&ll no!!!

I think he's a really interesting outside-the-box candidate. He could be a great coach, but he'd need to present a very concise plan for who his assistants would be and how he would handle recruiting and pretty much blow the interviewers away to be chosen above established college coaches.

Is there a reason things moved so fast with Lee? Is he D-Rad's top pick or did Sully and Schollsnagle blatantly say no?

I have always been under the impression that you have to have a college degree to coach at Clemson (and most other schools). Is that accurate?
