What is your question? Why wouldn't there be one? There are 2.5 million masons in the US; I'm sure some are in/near Clemson. My guess as to why there's a Masonic temple ... is because there are practicing Masons?

There is also a mosque, a synagogue, and other various houses of worship. What's the problem?

Almost any school the size of Clemson will have representatives from every major religion. They have to have somewhere to practice their faith.

It's in Pendleton. The people are quite nice and welcoming.

Re: Why is there a Masonic Temple in Clemson?

You are correct; it isn't.

However because a belief in god is a requirement it is often thought of a religious organization.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

By that logic the Boy Scouts are a religious organization.***

Yea like in front of the Shriners Hospital's, or take a kid to the Shriners Circus
maybe you should take a tour and then come back and share your thoughts.

FYI not all Masons are Shriners and Masons don't have or use clown cars
All Shriners are Masons

to be a Mason. It used to be member's were carefully selected, or were chosen because they were friends with a Mason. Now with there numbers so low, all you have to do to become a Mason is ask a Mason and you can become one.

Kinda disrespectful. I wouldn't be surprised if there are thousands of Masons in Death Valley every fall Saturday.

My grandfather was one, he seemed to enjoy it mainly because of the comradeship and fraternal aspect.
