Wilkins stated "we are meeting to discuss rumors regarding conference realignment" which is a farce. If that is the best excuse he could come up with he must think everyone but himself is a moron. The meeting is to approve/disapprove move to Big 12 eastern division along with 3-5 other ACC teams.

Wilkins is quoated as saying, "There is no offer on the table." To make a statement like that I think he must have inquired of the status of any talks with Clemson personnel/intermediaries. That lends credibility to his previous statement that no rep or intermediary of Clemson or the BIG 12 has made contact with the other.
These are very specific statements coming from the Chairman. Unless he is full of it, it sounds like the Big 12 stuff really is just rumor. I did see another post mention this could be a head fake and the discussions have been with the SEC. That I could see. Everyone has asked him about Big 12, and he is pretty definitive that nothing is going on with the Big 12.

and it would be hilarious if talks had been underway for several months. The coots would have a conniption fit....and we would finally be where we belong. Sadly, I believe it's a pipe dream. Either we join the Big 12 or we are screwed....

to send a warning shot at the ACC to do some things for the football schools. I still think they want to stay put if some concessions from the ACC make it a little better.

We will have to vote to remove ourselves from the ACC before anything can happen, after that we can talk to the BIG 12.
