#4 team at home...I know some UGA fans who would call that overachieving if they were favored to lose by 14...And LSU drops 1 spot after creeping by team they were heavily favored to beat at home...Please explain...

I feel that if a team is favored by a lot i.e. #2 vs. unranked and barely wins then they should drop.
However, the way the AP and coaches rank teams, they see it as "a win is a win" type thing.
This is why the ranking system is terrible.

FSU's ranking didn't factor in the drop...While I feel the 11 SEC teams in the Top 10 will all get credit when they play each other...

We have 2 teams ahead of us in the polls that have 1 loss. Both of those teams had much higher preseason rankings than we did, and it is early in the season where that preseason crap still matters. End of story.

Brad said it. Look @ the one loss teams ahead of us. Ok and USC. I felt the same way at first, dropping 10 to 17. It's still early though, and you gotta expect the unbeaten to rank higher than us.

I stated a couple of weeks ago, when we were 10-12 in the polls, that I had not seen Top 10 play from our team yet. Beating a crappy AU team with 2 new coordinators does not make us giant killers. Beating Ball st and Furman doesn't either. IMO we should have been 15-20 going into the FSU game. I still consider us a Top 20 team. But just barely. I haven't seen Top 10 play - period. We need 1-2 years to get this ship that far. Sorry man - I just don't see it yet.
I've been saying 7-11 wins, but 9 most probable. Beating AU helped make the 9 wins possible. 11 wins will demand divine intervention.
We will still lose at least 1-2 more games. Now it's your job to tell me which ones.

as bad as it sounds, i agree. i think we are between #15 and #17 in the nation,at this point. as the season plays out, i hope we will improve defensively (as much as our current talent will allow), and other teams will start falling as they get into the meat of their schedules.with our remaining schedule, we still have a better than average shot at an at-large bcs bid.

Because losing makes you drop more than winning does? It's still early in the season - the rest of the schedule looks GOOD for Clemson, you'll have plenty of time to pass schools ranked 1-16 as they will drop games here and there.

Well we are in the ACC for one. Until the rest of the ACC starts playing good football our teams will always have a tougher road to hoe. On top of that we had the game won and all of a sudden quit playing. We were beating FSU down like a red headed step child then got comfortable and quit playing. That is seen as a team that can't play for 4 quarters when in fact it is just a team that thinks they have won and loses their competitiveness. From the looks of it, all a team has to do is have 2 running backs to beat us because we couldn't stop them. Venables obviously doesn't have his defense ready when he's had plenty of time so far. From a national standpoint we are no different than a Big 12 team from several years ago. All offense, no defense. It seems once we put up around 30 points our team quits playing.

Maybe because we gave up 667 yds of offense to start. Special teams were awful, and the offense didn't produce in the 4th qtr. The last 2 trips to the state of Florida, we have given up 119 points to 2 teams. We showed that our defense still has issues and when they struggle in a game, the whole team goes flat. Better worry about BC this weekend. They have had a week off and this loss is still fresh in our guys minds.
