Tubbs mentioned this on Finebaum yesterday and said he was grabbing at the assistant's mic to pull the headset away so Tubbs could yell at him - Tubbs said he was definitely angry - but said it was a bad camera angle that made it look like he had slapped the guy. He said in no way did he hit him.

the Cincy AD are friends or at least have worked together before. Tubbs was interviewed on Finebaum yesterday and these were his reasons.

That being said, I don't think he was a cultural fit in west Texas which is why the TT AD said he wanted a Texas guy and preferably a west Texas kind of guy.
