We were recruiting other RBs higher rated than him

We failed to get those RBs, and he decided to give Clemson the cold shoulder for recruiting him late. Not sure if he partly choose USuC out of spite or not. They probably promised him immediate playing time...

I think Clemson thought they were going to get Keith Marshall since Gurley was committed to UGA, and didn't recruit Mike enough early on.

Pulled his offer or never offered him. Something we did hacked JD off in a big way. I think Mike wanted to do his own thing and go somewhere that he wouldn't be "James's brother"

We offered very early on. He committed to UF so we backed

off and thought we were going to get Keith Marshall or Todd Gurley (still signed Brooks) and by the time he decommitted from FL wasn't really interested in Clemson anymore.

Clemson was recruiting the top RBs in that class. (Gurley & Marshall)

They both chose UGA and Bellamy transferred.

A lot of things didn't work out in Clemson's favor for all of those RBs.

Lucky for the RBs that are getting the opportunity at Clemson IMO.

I hope they continue to make the best of it.
