Who remembers the famous Halloween Game with WF?

Sep 27, 2013, 1:09 PM

Danny Ford's CU team stomped WF 82-24. My favorite part was when Jim Phillips said on Tiger radio play by play, "Well Rodney, number 24 just ran one for 48 yards and a TD but I don't know who that was since we don't have a number 24 on our depth chart."

My Brother and I never stood up and down so much with TD celebrations!

The No. 24 that Jim Phillips was referring to was Bo Holloman who was a 3rd team LB and he was put in at fullback and he ran a long TD on his first carry!

That was when Wake Forest had Jay Venuto at QB and they were actually leading the ACC in total yardage by air. They had some catchy name for their offense but it was our Tigers who were the Air and Ground Patrols that day!

One of my favorite moments in Death Valley since I donned the stadium as a kid in 1968!

It says that Holloman scored on a 3 yard run. Crawford scored on a 72 yard run.

I was there with my dad, uncle and his girlfriend. I remember my uncle telling his girlfriend, who happened to be a gamecock fan that she "was about to watch some real football." Well that turned out to be an understatement!

Certainly - the Deacon was passed up the student section like the Tiger and helped with pushups.
