They are seriously considering it after being left out of the playoff.

Several teams come to mind. Boise, smu, Houston, rice, Utah st, Colorado st

They made a mistake not inviting Louisville when they had the chance. Now? Probably Cincy and UCF. Best combination of decent programs, markets, facilities (Cincy is completely renovating theirs) and recruiting footprint.

Except those teams make no sense geographically.

I'd say you take another Texas team like SMU or Houston, and then go for CSU, Boise st, or BYU
