marta question

Dec 30, 2012, 4:55 PM

Does anyone know which marta station would be the safest to park your car?

Which direction are you going in from?

Dec 30, 2012, 5:00 PM

If you are coming from the north, parking in Buckhead/Lenox is safe and anywhere north. We always prefer Brookhaven because it is easiest to get in and out of town quickly. If you are coming in from the east, I'm not the guy to ask.

I come from Columbia and usually park at Indian Creek marta station. From I-20, you have to get onto 285 towards Greenville for about 3 miles. I think it is pretty safe for what it is.

You should park at the Avondale station much better and safer than Indian Creek, it 's just inside 285.

Just don't take MARTA at all

Dec 30, 2012, 5:20 PM

Not worth the hassle, in my opinion. There are plenty of places to park in the surrounding area that aren't too difficult to get to, and there are even some streets you can park on w/o having to pay!

I went with my family and two other families when we played Tenn. We parked at one near Buckhead and our rented vans were graffitti ridden with beans and franks (drawn with soap i think) when we got back that night! Probably kids, but not too funny to the older women in our party.

MARTA is no fun New Years Eve...regardless of where you park

I purchased a parking pass 2 blocks from Dome for $9.50

Dec 30, 2012, 7:02 PM

@ $2.50/person each way on MARTA, it will cost a family of four $20 roundtrip to ride Marta into town. If MARTA can't save me time or money, I'm not going to use it. Also, after the game the line of people trying to leave on MARTA will be crazy.
