Which Clemson player could the team least afford to lose?

Oct 9, 2019, 2:12 PM

I think there are Two: Isaiah Simmons & Tee Higgins, I still think with the schedule Clemson has they could absorb it during the regular season, but come CFP time, we definitely as many of our top players on the field as possible & performing at a high level, would love to hear everyone else's picks

I concur with Simmons. He elevates the defense but it’s maybe not so obvious until he is not in there. The defense must play great until I see something from the offense that says they are ready to win a stretch of games without a defense that keeps opponents scoring under 20.

To be clear, you are entitled to your opinions and beliefs Because 'Murcia. I'll stand up for anyone in that regard. But if you're in this forum, please post about athletic related topics...or at the very least, say something funny. If you feel that ######## puckering and just HAVE to discuss your opinion on a political or prejudice based issue, please escort yourself to the politics and religion forum. You see, that's how this works. You discuss your issues with society in the right context. A very important thing actually. Because when you just barge in to other people's lives with crap when they aren't wanting it...well you suck as bad as the people you dislike. You do more harm, than good.

Why, oh why, is this such a hard concept?

Re: Which Clemson player could the team least afford to lose?

Oct 9, 2019, 2:14 PM

This is obvious, Lawrence and Simmons. Lawrence is the key to everything and has nobody even near his talent behind him. Ngata has been praised and Ladson has shown great promise and could come in behind Tee if we had to have it.Simmons is like Lawrence, just a freak who isn't replaceable this year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Which Clemson player could the team least afford to lose?

Oct 9, 2019, 2:18 PM

So Chase couldn't win some games with Trevor out? Not talking about being out for CFP, talking about for a stretch between now the CFP

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Which Clemson player could the team least afford to lose?

Oct 9, 2019, 2:22 PM

Compared to being as replaceable as Higgins? absolutely not there is not other position on the field as important and we have the best QB in the country, losing him would be the biggest loss we could take. Could Chase win absolutely but to nowhere near the way Ngata or Ladson could replace Tee. No offense to Tee we're just talking about the QB and the top rated QB ever for that matter..

Re: Which Clemson player could the team least afford to lose?

Oct 9, 2019, 2:24 PM

Don't we lose that game at Carolina without Tee? He was clearly the MVP of that game & the only consistent pass catcher thus far in the early going

We lose that game without the defense (Simmons being a big contributor) locking them down between the Tarholes first and last scoring drives.

Re: Which Clemson player could the team least afford to lose?

Tee was the only player on offense who made any big plays in that game & has made big plays in every game this season, I think people underrate how good & reliable he is

Funny just funny. Some people have no idea about the game of football. ETN would be very hard to replace in our scheme. CB would just do what he always does...win.

Re: Which Clemson player could the team least afford to lose?

Oct 9, 2019, 10:49 PM

so what Lyn-J Dixon is a scrub? the past 2 seasons he has had a higher yards per carry, he never really gets a fair shake, hardly saw any action vs UNC despite ETN not picking up any of his blocking assignments the whole game & fumbling away a crucial possession

I would think ya'll would have some better & more positive to do with ya'll's lives, I mean seriously when I am in SC no one ever has acted that way towards me, but for some reason we have these internet warriors who think by trashing others it somehow make themselves more cool in some way, I just don't get the thrill ya'll get out of being internet trolls, I am here to talk football & in particular Clemson football, if you are uneducated & have no opinion on Clemson football I get it, but being a troll ain't cool & never will be.

Re: Which Clemson player could the team least afford to lose?

Oct 9, 2019, 3:51 PM

No but we almost lost to UNC and we’ve almost lost or lost each year in the ACC. The only non ACC team that has been close to beating us or beat us is Alabama and they have had no problem in the SEC the last couple years. Nobody was within 3 TD’s of them in the regular season last year.
