How much of Johnstone is left? I have not been for a walk

around campus in several years. (Mostly because, after 3 low back surgeries, I don't walk PERIOD anymore than I have to.) I know some of the front part is definitely gone. I started out on B9, and spent the last 3 years in old F4.
You young kids would not ever put up with this, but B9 rooms did not even have phones my freshman year. Only phone was a phone booth in the corner of the hall.It was busy to say the least. TV reception was so poor, we got Saturday Night Live on Sundays my last two years.
What sections of Johnstone still survive, and what are future plans for them?

Only the A-section remains of Johnstone, which is not currently in use.
It will be taken out with the rest of the student union when it is upgraded though I believe.

Shows just how old I am. The Student Union was first built AFTER my freshman year, and is now about to be replaced. Time marches on.

I hadn't thought of it that way. That's kinda crazy, who would have thought that ten years ago.

Too much. Still not a good look, regardless of sentimentality.

Johnstone A is still standing at the moment but it is not being used. The plan is for it to come down in the next 2 to 3 years.

to put a new version of the Clemson House with the old sign IMHO. Maybe use a more traditional outside for the building.

If you think that is bad try “exploring” in the catacombs under the Duke basketball arena. Believe me ... it ain’t all about facilities!

I remember getting back from class one day and having my door catch on something as I was trying to get into my room. I climb over my bed and find that the back wall lining the cubby between my room and the next has caved in on our side. I’m looking directly into the next room. I look at my roommate and then to my neighbor through the hole. Both just shrug and go back to what they were doing. Par for the course in Johnstone.

Appears I was ahead of the OP at Clemson by 10 or so years but, like him, also resided in Johnstone C (C-821) my freshman year, and in F (F-224) my senior year. Rented off-campus the two middle years. Boy was Clemson different back then.

Ah the memories. I was in B section and C section. I remember the numerous roaches - under my fridge, in my stereo, in my alarm clock (blocking some of the LEDs so you couldn't read the numbers). I remember our neighbor's alarm clock waking us up. I remember the unique smell of the stairwells. I remember the uniquely awful smells on Sunday mornings.

Water surfing in the halls. Taking sliding doors from closet and making small pools in the showers. E-6 the first year with no A/C and one phone on the hall. The rest I spent on F overpass. Last two in the old company commanders room. Biggest rooms in Johnstone. First year the Shoeboxes were men's dorms. All females lived on East Campus. Freshman were not allowed cars on campus. The bum limes by Sikes Hall. The last official Rat Season. Chemistry in Brackett Hall.

Never lived a day in Johnstone but spent 3.5 years on campus

Reading this post makes me feel like I missed out on something, but I had plenty of Johnstone exposure, and am glad I never lived there.
Also, wouldn't change a day of my Clemson experience if I could.
GO TIGERS!!

Sadly never lived in Johnstone. But it wasn't for a lack of trying. Requested Johnstone two years and I guess the housing people thought I was crazy. 1st choice and STILL never got in.
