When do the dorms open?

I know 1st semester classes begin on the 20th. But when do the dorms open?

I may have to help someone move his son into his dorm.

I’ve heard that parents can pay extra to move their kids in early this year. This may be wrong, but someone told me that if they paid for the extra room and board they could move in today or tomorrow.

It is done on a staggered schedule now. Every student living on campus has already been assigned a move in day and time (for instance, the son of a friend of mine has been assigned August 18 as his move in day). I would ask the parents of the student you have been asked to help.
