Calling current or recent grad Tigers, Help?

Nov 26, 2012, 4:43 PM

The recent article that was posted with the picture of the original Engineering Hall that burned in 1926 got me to thinking. How many of the teaching buildings still survive from when I was there, 1972-76? Memory is foggy with time, but I do remember some of the names I suffered in.

Martin Hall
Sirrine Hall
Brackett Hall
Daniel Hall
Lee Hall
Lowry Hall
Olin Hall
Riggs Hall

And, since a I am Chem E, or course

What’s the one where I took entomology?

It was between Sikes, Martin, and the horseshoe...maybe Long Hall?

Yes, Long Hall.

Which is why they say if you are a science major, you’re in for a “long haul.”

I was ChemE class of 75. It’s been years since I walked campus in detail so not sure what’s missing from our day. The building beside Brackett Hall was a old building where I had history class. Is it still there?

That sounds like Hardin Hall.***

Hardin was originally built in 1890...

and is the oldest classroom building on campus.

Of course, it sits right between Brackett Hall and Olin Hall.

Hardin has been renovated several times over the years, most recently in 2003. Clemson did a really good job of preserving the building's history by maintaining most of the exterior brickwork.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Wow. It is old but has character. Thanks for the info.

That's another one that I had at least one class in whilst

I was there. I think it was a math class, maybe calculus?

Physics was in Kinard between Martin and Daniel

Some sort of Engineering was in Rhodes between Riggs and the Library

Some Education classes were in Godfrey between Tillman and the Y

And Poole Agricultural had at least one big lecture hall just beyond the dairy sales area.

I took a poultry science class there. The details of why are not important. I’m not smart enough to be a farmer.
