Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

The rain that is going to drench us isn't even coming from the hurricane until later Saturday night, early Sunday morning. There is a Low pressure system basically stalled out over Macon, GA that has been dumping rain on us for a week now. Add that to the outter bands of the hurricane and you have these crazy rainfall totals.. And the 5+inches of rain is a 4 day total.. It's going to rain Saturday, but not 5-12inches all at once like people are freaking out about.

the good news is the heavy rain is not

Going to be widespread. The bad news is where these bands form up, it's going to be epic amounts of rainfall.

The most recent updates model on TWC shows heaviest pockets forming from Florence west to Columbia and up towards Rockingham.
