Deondre Francois is not irrelevant to this conversation, but he's certainly not the answer to the question. So how is a team that since 2012 has finished 2, 4, 9, 4, 3, & 3 in recruiting 2-4?

including one of the best qb prospects in the nation leaving a huge hole that was exposed this year.
It can cascade and appears to have done so.
Their head coach just came through some pretty big personal distress as well.
I hope they don't lose their mind and look for change, but in today's world...

Jimbo does have a 39.3 million dollar buyout if they decide to look for a change. I think they'll give him at least 1 more year to try to turn it back around

girl and it was on camera and he got the boot.
Malik Henry was supposed to be the man coming out of HS. He transferred out I can't remember why. O lineman... I can't tell you.
But I won't cry for them. They got the best RB in last years class and allah knows how many of those defensive recruits were the #1 at their positions. So.. They don't have many scrubs.Which means it ain't a given they don't figure it out and start playing better.

The FSU campus for all students is fairly out of control and undisciplined players get caught up. Anyone who's spent time there knows the deal. It's unlike CU and pretty much every ACC school. Its alot like Athens with worse academics, and you saw how undisciplined Richt teams underperformed every year and always had guys in trouble. At FSU classes are a goof and drinks are free.

Last week it was Lamar Jackson.
Their QB, while getting better, just doesn't have the experience or the winning attitude that Frenchie has. Their O line is questionable and their D just does not seem to be on the same page. Maybe part of that me mentality on poster said.

Jimbo is not much of a coach just a great recruiter in a hot recruiting area/school. Since his insanely stacked FSU team led by Jameis left you've seen a decline in FSU. There is no leadership there and now that Dalvin has left and Francois is hurt, nobody is motivating that team. It's just a big blunder of talent seemingly going out and playing street ball against a game plan.

I don't think you can say he is not much of a coach when he is one of the winningest coaches in the country. It's not like he inherited a championship caliber team. He rebuilt FSU

1) Charles Kelly is an awful DC.
2) Their starting QB got hurt in a year they really couldn't afford it.

Stars expect to win. Once the 2nd loss happened and any post season high hopes were over they shut down and "Clowneyed" for the draft.

1. OL coach needs replaced
2. DC needs replaced
3. The same problem that many schools get caught up in- they got lazy and started recruiting kids based on someone else's star rankings instead of spending a LOT of time really evaluating the kids themselves. It may be related to Jimbo's marital problems since that could be tying up more of the time he used to spend on evaluation of recruits. One of their problems at present is their receiving core which is supposedly talented but I guarantee you that Jimbo would be better off if he could trade his best receiver for 2 star Hunter Renfrow who can actually play.
4. Clemson's and others recent success against them has also affected their confidence and swagger and put more pressure on them when things do not start off well. It used to be that they could fall behind a couple TD's in the first quarter and everyone on the team would be 100 % confident of victory but now they start to get rattled when they get off to a shaky start and everything escalates.
