What former Clemson player had the most successful NFL

Aug 11, 2015, 9:39 PM

career? I'd say Brian Dawkins. I would also say that Levon Kirkland, Chester Mcglockton, and Trevor Pryce had great careers.

Dawkins, 16 years, 9 pro bowls. HOFer for sure

Michael Dean Perry was

a 6 time Pro Bowl player and 1989 AFC Defensive Player of The Year.

I would argue Charlie Whitehurst.

He's hardly played and made MILLIONS!

Maybe not the greatest but maybe best remembered is "The Catch" by Dwight Clark! 49ers retired #87!

Terry Allen had a few great seasons , not the best former Tiger in the NFL career wise maybe , but he was special when he was healthy.

Excellent list, pretty much sums it up - and scary to think how many of these actually played together on the same team(s) at Clemson.

I'd go with Dawkins

you can define "successful" different ways

Aug 12, 2015, 8:16 AM

who made the most money?

who played the longest?

who had the biggest "celebrity" status?

who got the most Super Bowl rings?

you could argue Fridge, Dawkins, Dwight Clark, Charlie Waters, maybe even a few others, according to your own criteria.

For those of you that weren't around, in 1985 there wasn't a bigger celebrity on the planet than William Perry. His star rose and faded fast, but I think he'd get my vote solely because of his celebrity.
