I think a team will try and steal him late. I don’t think his measurables will blow anyone out of the water. The Patriots have obviously done very well without the big name receivers so he’ll need to go somewhere with a very capable quarterback who doesn’t need tall, speedy receivers to compensate for less than stellar passes.

Yep I keep reading the Patriots like his type but wondered if there had been anything other than that type conjecture. Appreciate the input.

After his junior year, I thought he had a chance.

but seeing how much he was overshadowed this year by freshmen, his odds of getting many looks in the NFL are slim. I doubt he'll get drafted, but should get a try out.

The Pats will sign him as an undrafted free agent this year and he will have a 10+ year career there. As Edelman replaced Walker, Renfrow will replace Edelman.

HR's chances may be better

than a lot of people think. You can coach routes--he's a quick study.
But he has that inner driven desire to excel. His all-around game is nothing to sneeze at. The NFL has FOUR years of film to examine his improvement each year. And, he has pretty good foot speed as well.

He’s also more cocky....not that’s all bad but Hunter’s humility makes him more endearing.

Winner Renfrow Must Be Drafted
Jan 13, 2019, 11:03 PM
|
|
The NFL is starting to place more and more value on "winners"! HR is a winner at everything he has ever done. I love the metrics and the testing to predict how well a player will be as much as anyone. I do. But, HR13 has things that are good measurables; but an understanding of how to break a defender down that can't be measured. You pair him with an accurate QB and he will end up as not just an NFL player; but a pro bowler! Mark it down!

Would not doubt that at all! He runs terrific routes and has an uncanny ability to get open. Also has great hands.

Pair him with a dynamic offense with a capable QB. Houston, Philly, KC, Rams, and Indy.

I agree that he would be a late round steal for New England. He is the perfect Wes Welker-type receiver for their offense.

It's been done before and I like his chances.
Troy Brown out of Marshall (when they were 1-AA) was drafted by the pats in the 8th round. He had a great 15 year career . He returned punts ( pats all time leader), 3 interceptions, 2nd in receptions for pats, 3rd in yards for pats, had 1 defensive forced fumble and recovery, and even played a few snaps at QB as an emergency 3rd stringer.
However, at the end of every season coach B told him they weren't sure they were going to have a spot for him next year. Every year he out worked the new players drafted.

Humphries is faster and stronger. Their similarities are height and skin color.

Will Swinney said in a recent interview that Renfrow ran a 4.4 40 at one of their workouts.
Exactly how much faster is Humphries than Renfrow?
I think the "2 star walk-on" story has caused many to think Renfrow was lacking athletically. Make no mistake he was the best athlete on the field in every game he played his senior year of high school. The problem was that he was short and weighed 145 lbs. His size and strength were the only things he was lacking coming out of high school. I'm sure he is much stronger now and he has put on around 30-40 lbs.

Have you watched Humphries returns in the NFL? Renfrow could never do that. They aren't similar players. Renfrow has the best hands ever. They are being compared because they aren't tall and they are white. I would never put anything past Renfrow. If Renfrow turned into an All Pro it wouldn't shock me. He may be the next Steve Largent for all I know. He is a stud. He may not pan out also. There is no telling. He is just not similar to Humphries is all I am saying. They just are very different players.

Saying Renfrow can't do what Humphries does in the NFL is speculation obviously.
All I'm saying is a 4.4 is a 4.4. I will give you the strength difference but if what Will Swinney says is true, then Humphries is not decidedly faster than Renfrow.
We haven't seen him try to return a punt for TD but he does seem to get really good separation from DBs on downfield routes.
Also I know they are not NFL caliber but he ran away from the entire scar defense on the screen play in '17.

Maybe even as high as the 5th round.
I've seen two draft grades come out for him... One saying 6th and one saying 4th round.

if someone else, not sure. He would have to be on an offense that is committed to using the slot receiver in a big way, as does New England.

I think that somebody gambles on him in one of the late rounds. He has proven to be a pretty good gamble. He just seems to have a sixth sense on finding holes in pressure situations and after year 1 against Alabama, I can't buy that he took anyone by surprise.
