NCAA and UNC. Here's the difference from a year ago:

Oct 23, 2014, 12:46 PM

The NCAA completed their first "investigation" and said, "Your academic integrity is laughable and an embarrassment to higher learning, but this is a university issue. It's not about athletics and therefore isn't in our jurisdiction."

This new information shows that the athletic side of the house at UNC was complicit. This means it IS within the NCAAs jurisdiction and they can't use their "it's not about athletics" stance. We know they don't want to - but the NCAA HAS to do something this time.

If the NCAA does not impose some pretty stiff penalties.....

Oct 23, 2014, 12:51 PM

which should include vacating numerous wins and titles, the NCAA will lose what little integrity it has left.

The question now becomes, if the NCAA is effectively forced to "lower-the boom" on UNCheat, does the NCAA still get to keep the hush money UNCheat originally paid them to turn a blind eye.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Well after the yahoo story last year about little nickys bag man and the dj flicker going from homeless to driving a cts caddy and the tuscalooser drug store with all the money orders etc,.

I don't see the ncaa doing any thing , they will fix this as an already been punished enough .

Not we spent 8 million to cover it up and lied to the ncaa .

NCAA last time slapped their wrist, NCAA this time:

Oct 23, 2014, 1:25 PM

"Bad Tarholes. Hold out your other wrist."

They should get the death penalty and have to give up every title they won between '93 and '11 IMO but I guarantee you they'll get nothing worse than a few reduced schollies and a bowl ban.

The NCAA is an impotent organization.

What about the college acceptance issue?

Oct 23, 2014, 1:36 PM

How do you accept high school students with a fifth grade reading level?

What about the ACC in this? Swofford had to know. Clemson had the book thrown at them for much less. For years people in authority have kept there mouth shut when clearly UNC was given an advantage by the ACC ref's in basketball. I remember the year all our guys fouled out but four. We still just about beat them when they hac no fouls. The crooked-ness doesn't stop in the university. It goes all the way to Swofford. He must go too.

"much less"? How about "not even close"?

How about comparing a flick in the head to getting a 2x4 blasted between your eyes?
