Well there you have it...Coots finally concede that USC is

Southern Cal! This study must have stung a bit. Forced them to rebrand to a logo everyone hates. Lol.

https://www.sc.edu/uofsc/posts/2019/01/uofsc_new_look.php#.XE4s_xpOmfC

“In the national identity research, we tested things like USC, Carolina and UofSC nationally. Nationally, and that includes South Carolina, the abbreviation “USC” was associated with the University of Southern California 70 percent of the time and with us about 20 percent of the time. “UofSC” was associated with the University of South Carolina 71 percent of the time and with Southern Cal about 20 percent of the time.“

So they just rebranded only 8 years ago and now they are having to do it again so people will know who they are. This has to be the true definition of irrelevant.

The coots are known for copying things that successful programs do. This is one example. They copied
Southern Cal's logo when they were relevant and it came back to bite them in the butt. U of SuC won't sell as well as interlocking "S" and "C".

If you are worth a crap you don't have to tell people who you are.

A re-brand will do nothing to improve their football program, their image or the national perception of their program. The main complaint of their fans is the change from three letters (USC) to five letters (U of SC). Their vocabulary is usually limited to words with no more than four letters.

The results would be the same...

if not even more one-sided should they choose to disclose the testing conducted on the word "Carolina".

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.
