At this point, I really don't want to lose BV

he's done some incredible work with a defense that has been sub par for as long as I can remember.

Agreed. Love his intensity and his emphasis on fundamentals (which Steele seemed to ignore when our LB situation was similar to our current QB/RB situation).

The only thing I will say is that it's hard to isolate all the variables and determine the start of the chicken/egg cycle.

Are Beasley, Crawford, Anthony etc al as good as they are now because of Veneables, or vice versa? Is their experience more responsible for their success or is it the tutelage they received? Things like that.

As with all things, I think it's a little bit of both. If we can maintain our recruiting level and get back on track with bringing in some blue-chip talent on the defensive front, there's no reason we shouldn't be in the hunt for a top 10 unit every year.

the coach is VERY important! BV has changed this defense in so many ways. Tackling is the most important change that I see every play, but there are many other things that the defense does better since BV came to Clemson.

Well he won't be going to Florida. There's way too

much risk there for Florida - they might fire Will Muschamps and hire New Will Muschamps.

And Jeremy Foley was quoted as saying he wants a coach who "has been successful on the offensive side of the ball."

Agreed! He is the one Coach I'm dreading us losing. You point is spot on.
