Well, crap. What do I do with this?

Jun 3, 2015, 2:03 PM

Had to take a trip with my boss a few weeks ago and we went to a pretty nice restaurant. We generally talked only about work. My boss said for me to put in on my expenses so he could approve it.

I turned in my expenses and accounting turned it down, stating some rule about only being allowed so much money to spend at dinner.

Looks Like I just fscked for $180. NOW what?

Have sex with his wife, send him a bill for your services, and tell him he should be able to expense it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Should've tried Applebee's or something.***

They won't give you partial?***

badge-ringofhonor-clemsonsteve02.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Looks like they're going to give me $100

Jun 3, 2015, 2:10 PM

$50 for each is the limit.

Boss wants to send me a check for remainder.

This seems like thin ice here from a political standpoint....

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

take the check man

Jun 3, 2015, 2:16 PM

bawce is at fault.

The only thing political for you to worry about is now you are "THAT GUY" that turned in a $180 dinner when evidently your company ain't got no time for dat.

Ineligible, meat radar. You are on top of it now.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not worried about that part. They turn down stuff all

Jun 3, 2015, 2:19 PM

the time. Some of my guys tried to slip some expenses past accounting last week and they got stopped.

But I didn't tell them I'd cover it if it got turned down.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

call bawce and tell him to deal with it. Next time

Jun 3, 2015, 2:06 PM

split it with the bawce or among other attendees from your co to keep the total under the radar if possible.

WHAT DID YOU GUYS EAT FOR $180????????

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Some ### good steaks

Jun 3, 2015, 2:10 PM

and some lobster. And lots of beer.

Jun 3, 2015, 2:07 PM

Your boss turned it down...or the CFO?

I'd forward it to him and be like bro...we splitting this or what? Cause I'm poor.

2024 white level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Looks like we'll spilt some of it

Jun 3, 2015, 2:11 PM

Not sure if that is the best idea from a political move.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's BS. It is implied that the bawce would have

Jun 3, 2015, 2:15 PM

authority to approve it if he told you to expense it. I've had bawces in the past that would tell me to expense it because approval comes from the next 2 levels...and that keeps it off the radar of the bawce's bawce's bawce.

If he doesn't have the authority to approve, he should be able to get an exception made. And if not, pay for it himself.

Garbage. This makes me mad. Your boss sukks.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agreed. But again, politics.

Jun 3, 2015, 2:17 PM

thin ice for me to accept money for his bill I'm thinking.

But stupid $$ wise not to. Kind of a no win situation here.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

See I'm on the other side of it. Phugfiddy bucks or a hundy

Jun 3, 2015, 2:20 PM

or whatever.

Principle is that he should have had it figgered out. And he makes more than you. AND HE MADE THE MESS BY MAKING YOU EXPENSE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE KNOWING HE HAD A COTDAM CARD IN HIS POCKET TOO. And fuggim let him clean it up.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He also does my yearly merit increases and review.

Jun 3, 2015, 2:25 PM

People get weird with that kinda thing..especially really cheap people..like he is.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This doesn't seem healthy***

Jun 3, 2015, 2:13 PM

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-clemsonrulez08.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Please forgive me, @IneligibleUser

It was not, by any means healthy.

Jun 3, 2015, 2:16 PM

And I never, ever said it was.

But it was delicious. And expensive.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Tell your boss to override accounting or

Jun 3, 2015, 2:32 PM

fork over $180. If you're the diplomatic type, and you both consumed the same at the meal, ask him for $90, which is his share of the difference.

Or...

Just ring his doorbell and leave a flaming paper bag full of #### on the steps.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-tiggity-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I puzzed out.

Jun 3, 2015, 2:34 PM

Company covered $100 ($50 limit each). That left $40 each--i just told him to buy me some beer on out next trip.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Seems he knew the policy and wanted you to get the

heat for it instead of him.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think he genuinely thought he could approve it

Jun 3, 2015, 3:40 PM

But I won't make that mistake twice.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

But he is the boss, why not put it on his expense report?***

Jun 3, 2015, 3:42 PM

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Reciept was on my card.

Jun 3, 2015, 3:45 PM

He probably wouldn't have gotten approved for it either.
