Well, crap. What do I do with this?

Had to take a trip with my boss a few weeks ago and we went to a pretty nice restaurant. We generally talked only about work. My boss said for me to put in on my expenses so he could approve it.
I turned in my expenses and accounting turned it down, stating some rule about only being allowed so much money to spend at dinner.
Looks Like I just fscked for $180. NOW what?

Have sex with his wife, send him a bill for your services, and tell him he should be able to expense it.

$50 for each is the limit.
Boss wants to send me a check for remainder.
This seems like thin ice here from a political standpoint....

bawce is at fault.
The only thing political for you to worry about is now you are "THAT GUY" that turned in a $180 dinner when evidently your company ain't got no time for dat.
Ineligible, meat radar. You are on top of it now.

But I didn't tell them I'd cover it if it got turned down.

split it with the bawce or among other attendees from your co to keep the total under the radar if possible.
WHAT DID YOU GUYS EAT FOR $180????????

Your boss turned it down...or the CFO?
I'd forward it to him and be like bro...we splitting this or what? Cause I'm poor.

That's BS. It is implied that the bawce would have

authority to approve it if he told you to expense it. I've had bawces in the past that would tell me to expense it because approval comes from the next 2 levels...and that keeps it off the radar of the bawce's bawce's bawce.
If he doesn't have the authority to approve, he should be able to get an exception made. And if not, pay for it himself.
Garbage. This makes me mad. Your boss sukks.

thin ice for me to accept money for his bill I'm thinking.
But stupid $$ wise not to. Kind of a no win situation here.

Principle is that he should have had it figgered out. And he makes more than you. AND HE MADE THE MESS BY MAKING YOU EXPENSE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE KNOWING HE HAD A COTDAM CARD IN HIS POCKET TOO. And fuggim let him clean it up.

Tell your boss to override accounting or

fork over $180. If you're the diplomatic type, and you both consumed the same at the meal, ask him for $90, which is his share of the difference.
Or...
Just ring his doorbell and leave a flaming paper bag full of #### on the steps.
