I don't understand this. I think ranked a little high just because of the ball Sack?

Why? Very few SEC teams return

Starting QB. Georgia, Bama, LSU, Tenn, Vandy, Texas A&M come to mind plus Florida QB is coming off an injury.

Yup including coots. Sec lost several experienced qbs. I

Huh ? Se C has lost a ton of QB starters , some good some will actually be better off without . I think that preseason opinion polls are a little bit of nothing. Give it until mid October and then lets rank'em. Dang.

You are very correct dug23! Some of those teams will

benefit from addition by subtraction. I think we are seeing the beginning of the slide downward for the sec.

Not surprising, look at the QBs that are gone.

Manziel, Murray, mettenberger, mccarron, shaw, Franklin, etc.

Almost nobody coming back. Marshall is ok passer but more of a runner for sure. Wallace, mauk, and dak Prescott? Lol

Not much at the qb position in the sec. I think we will see the power running games return with a vengeance.

I hadn't even thought about all the QBs gone. It makes sense now.

I see the Coots proud of his top 5 ranking but fail to see how weak the QB position is this year in the SEC

Kinda like the ACC Conference as a whole, not much there but you are proud to be ranked where you are. DT is good QB, not flashy or big time but we could be in a much worse situation.

This is the dirtpecker's record against the ACC. Every decade that you have a winning record, you were on probation for cheating.

South Carolina is (120-111-6) against ACC

Average score: South Carolina 19.4 - ACC 17.9

In bowl games: South Carolina is (0-1) against ACC
Average score: South Carolina 17.0 - ACC 26.0

Per decade
W L T Win % PFPG PAPG
2010's 5 1 0 83.3 27.5 15.0
2000's 7 8 0 46.7 20.1 21.4
1990's 6 12 1 34.2 20.5 24.4
1980's 24 15 1 61.3 22.1 18.3
1970's 25 23 1 52.0 24.3 19.8
1960's 31 29 3 51.6 16.8 15.7
1950's 22 23 0 48.9 13.3 14.8

Well I perceive it as weak. Mauk and Wallace are OK. Thompson can manage a game but he's not someone you scheme a D for. Coker? Driskell? Who ya got? ATM doesn't even know who it will be and they're #9? Marshall is #1 and probably won't play QB after Auburn. Weak Sauce! And just to clarify, I didn't say the ACC is any better. The post was about SEC QBs.

I'm assuming his success against Clemson helped his ranking.
